Whole coriander seeds come from the dried fruits of the coriander plant (Coriandrum sativum). These seeds are small, round, and light brown to yellowish in color with fine ridges on their surface.
They have a warm, slightly citrusy, nutty, and mildly sweet flavor. When crushed or roasted, they release a stronger aroma due to essential oils like linalool.
Coriander seeds are one of the most widely used spices in Indian kitchens and are a key ingredient in spice blends like garam masala, curry powder, and pickling spices.
